As his first drum teacher was Jazz Drummer, Buddy Christian, Dennis began his drumming career just out of high school when he joined a Drum Corp group called The Chessmen. He went on to join the Marines, attended music school and played with the Parris Island Band , the Camp Lejeune Band in North Carolina and the Okinawa Band in Okinawa, Japan. After he left the Marine Corp, Dennis performed with such greats as Vinny Hill, Betty Kamora, Lee Hoppel, Joe Vitalli, Les Elgard, Ronny Allard and Boots Randolf. Dennis is a Grammy AwardŽ winning Drummer who for the past several years has been performing with 18-time Grammy AwardŽ winner Jimmy Sturr and his Orchestra.
