Principal Tubist with Hudson Valley Philharmonic since 1973. Studies at New York
University (BM) and Manhattan School of Music (MM) included Tuba lessons with Don
Butterfield and Herb Wekselblatt. He played with such notable and varied groups as
the American Symphony Orchestra, the Barnum & Bailey Circus, Les and Larry Elgart
Big Band, Jimmy Dorsey Orchestra, Milton Berle, Robert Merrill, Wynton Marsalis,
Van
Cliburn, Nancy Wilson, Richie Havens and Pincus Zuckerman. Additionally he is
engaged in active programming providing musical clinics for children with his Hudson
Valley Brass Quintet and Hudson Valley Families Quintet, opening new vistas to
young
minds. He heads David Winograd Entertainment, a talent-booking agency. Leader of
his own Swing/Dixie/Motown/R&B Group, THE SAINTS OF SWING, and plays in
many
other free-lance ensembles. Was Director of Dutchess Community College Music
School, Poughkeepsie, NY. 1996-2003. Was Director of Entertainment, Music
Director
and Master of Ceremonies at the Granite Hotel & Country Club, Kerhonkson, NY
1980-
1997. For many years he was Music and Entertainment Director for the "REACH
FOR
THE STARS", Association for Retarded Citizens Telethon. Currently President of the
Kerhonkson Synogogue, and sounds a mighty Shofar for the High Holy Days. He
three
grown Children all involved in the arts.
